If you couldn’t make it out to Chaparral Park on January 30th, you truly missed one of those rare evenings that reminds you how powerful simple community events can be.
From the moment families arrived, the park came alive.
Kids ran freely across the playground, met new friends, and spent time at the petting zoo — which quickly became one of the most popular spots of the night. Parents and neighbors connected naturally, often striking up conversations with people they hadn’t met before, even though they live just blocks apart.
Between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM alone, over 100 people attended, and the energy continued to build as the evening went on.
For a free, open community event, turnout is always unpredictable — but the response made one thing clear: families are craving meaningful, local experiences close to home.
A Family Favorite Under the Stars
As the sun set, families settled onto blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, a classic family favorite that brought laughter from kids and adults alike.
Throughout the evening, we also gave away raffle prizes, adding an extra layer of excitement — especially for the kids who eagerly waited to hear their names called.
Behind the Scenes: Gratitude for Patience & Kindness
With an event this size, there were a lot of moving parts.
Every person helping that night was part of my staff, and they worked incredibly hard to serve everyone as fairly and efficiently as possible. We’re deeply grateful for the patience, understanding, and kindness shown by everyone in attendance as we worked to keep things running smoothly.
Community events only work when everyone shows up with the right spirit — and this one absolutely did.
The Moments That Made It Special
What truly made the night unforgettable weren’t the logistics — it was the moments in between:
Blankets spread across the grass
Kids laughing and playing under the park lights
Animals enjoying the attention
Neighbors lingering in conversation instead of rushing home
Those small, genuine moments are exactly why we do events like this.
